Obeying God isn’t a pain free life. It doesn’t mean you will be popular. It doesn’t mean you will be immune from common problems in a fallen world. It doesn’t mean you won’t encounter serious spiritual warfare. You can expect problems.

So the question is not “Will we ever have moments of discouragement?” The question is “How can I deal with deep discouragement? When I seek to live out God’s Word, and things don’t work out the way I expect, where do I go for help, strength, and sanity?”
