Living On The Edge

Speaker:
Passage: Hebrews 11:1

"Faith At The Edge:" These four words remind me of the day in 1993 I decided to learn how to scuba dive. I poured over a book about scuba diving and sailed through a written test. I was able to quote the rules of diving  and had memorized the hand signals to communiate under water. I stared down into the choppy ocean and regretted my decision. The deep looked up at me and opened it's giant mouth, as if poised to eat me for lunch. Someone behind me was telling me to step over the edge.

Like diving, faith is counter intuitive. It defies human nature, which is why it is associated with risk. Diving into God is dangerous simply because His dreams for us are worth giving our lives for. God is moving across the earth in search of men and women who will dare to take the leap of faith. He is offering us the chance to rise up and partake in His dream for our generation.
