No matter the difficulties facing us, it is helpful to be reminded that God is working His purposes year after year to move us forward amidst the darkness and the hostility and the sin of a fallen world. The promise and the mandate of God’s purposes advances, and we find purpose in our small stories are part of a larger drama in which the design of God, the agenda of God, is being accomplished no matter how things may appear to us.
