Adorn Women’s Retreat

What is Adorn? 

Adorn is a weekend gathering created for women. Our desire is that you would encounter God and deepen your connections with other women who love Him.  It’s compromised of teaching sessions, friendship and fun.

Friendship/Fun: The weekend will provide the opportunity to see old friends within our network of churches as well as the opportunity to strengthen relationships within your church. It is our hope that our churches would be marked by authentic relationships, and weekends like this are a way to make that possible.

Teaching sessions: We will gather together to study the end of Genesis.

This year’s theme is Tracing God’s Hand-Trusting His Heart:
Lessons Learned from the Life of Joseph

In our sessions together, we’ll trace God’s hand in the life of a faithful servant, a life marked by patient endurance of suffering and loss, but ending ultimately in great reward.

We’ll see flawed people following a faithful God as He transforms their lives and works His sovereign plan in righteousness, in power,  in mercy and grace. We’ll be challenged to trust His heart, even when we cannot trace His hand, and strengthened in our personal journey in the knowledge of Who He is.

Speaker: Gwen is the wife of Dannie Williams (Pastor, First Baptist Lyons), the mother of two amazing girls and a phenomenal church member and community servant. Gwen and Dannie have been greatly influential mentoring and discipling many young people, including our beloved Pastor Clint and Jen Clifton.

Schedule of Events:
The event is intended to be informal and refreshing, so come casual and enjoy yourself with no agenda except to soak up God’s Word and His People.  Here is a rough idea of what we’ll be doing throughout the weekend:

Friday, April 14
4:30-6pm – Check-in
6:00pm – Dinner
7:15pm – Teaching Session #1
9:00pm – Fellowship, Relaxation

Saturday, April 15
8-9am – Breakfast
9:15 am – Teaching Session #2
NOON-4pm – Free time, recreation, rest
4:00pm – Breakouts by church
5:00pm – Dinner
6:30pm – Teaching Session #3
8:00pm – Event End

Age Limit:
Adorn is open to women ages 13 and above. In fact, your teenage daughters are not just ALLOWED to come, but ENCOURAGED to attend. Please spread the word and have them invite their friends as well!

Registration:

Standard ($85): The standard registration includes lodging, 3 meals, and participation in the general programming of the event.

While we strongly encourage that you attend Friday and Saturday, we understand that is not always possible, and want to still afford you the opportunity to attend Saturday only. (Cost for Saturday only is $35 and includes breakfast and dinner and the programming).

*Lunch on Saturday will be on your own.

Saturday Free Time:
There will be several different outings/ activities/relaxing experiences offered on Saturday afternoon. Some of those activities (i.e. sleeping, hiking, restaurant, picnic, crafts, thrifting) will be no additional charge. Some of the activities offered that day will include an additional cost based on your preference. The excursions are organized by participants and communicated via email prior to the event as well as at the
event.

Linens & Towels:
Linens and towels are NOT provided at the NOVA 4H campground. You will have to bring your own.

MORE LODGING INFO:

The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational and Conference Center is situated on 229 acres of land nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, only minutes away from the historical town of Front Royal. The Center sits at the gateway to Shenandoah National Park in Warren County.
The facility offers a complete line of services including lodging, meals, wireless internet, meeting rooms, and recreational facilities. We will be staying in multiple lodges on site at the retreat center. There is a bathroom and shower in each room of both lodges.

For our Camping (“Granola”) Friends out there:

If you love the outdoors and wish to sleep outside, no-one will stop you! You’re allowed  to bring your own tent and sleep on the open field outside the lodging facilities if that’s what will maximize this experience for you! To each his own!
