Downward Mobility – Part 1
Bible Text: Philippians 2:1-11 | Speaker: Pastor James Hinton | Series: Momentum: How To Move Forward in 2018
This passage is part of a letter to a church Paul loved. He celebrates his partnership with them and prays for them. The advance of the gospel among them is ever foremost in his mind.
But like all churches, Philippi has its share of colorful personalities and problems. Later, in chapter 4, Paul mentions two ladies, Euodia and Syntyche, who seem to have public disagreements. Their conflict seems typical of a broader disunity within the church. Selfish ambition is working its divisive magic, as it never fails to do. So Paul engages in a “test of perception and priorities.”
