OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE – WEEK OF 4/5/2020

As our area continues to deal with the effects of COVID-19, this page will be regularly updated with known ways you can serve others in our community.

Three local organizations have reached out for help as they serve our community. The details and links are all laid out below.  All of these opportunities are great ways for us to serve our community and fight anxiety and frustrations with love.

VALLEY HEALTH

Valley Health needs fabric masks. They have set a goal of having 10,000 masks in 2 weeks. A limited amount of pre-cut mask kits are available. Kits may be requested through Volunteer Services by calling 540-536-8158. Curbside pickup will be offered for mask kit pickup. They ask that you request only the amount of masks that can be completed and returned in two days. One kit contains material for 10 masks. Joann’s has told us that they will have kits available Wed or Thurs next week. If you’re able to help in this way there are very specific instructions to follow. Check out https://www.valleyhealthlink.com/patients-visitors/coronavirus-covid-19-updates/how-you-can-help/ for detailed instructions and how-to videos. You can also access the written instructions here. If You are unable to sew but would like to donate supplies or making kits contact donations@valleyhealthlink.com.

If you have sewing skills please email me back so that we can work together to get you the supplies.
