Monday: April 6
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 64:5-9
Prayer Focus: Even our best attempts at righteousness are filthy compared to God’s absolute holiness, purity, and perfection. We want to use today to confess the times we have forgotten His ways and failed to call upon His Name for strength. Ask the Lord to look upon you with compassion, to deliver you from sin, and to remember your unrighteousness no more. As you do, be reminded of the cleansing power of the gospel. Faith in Jesus has made you clean before God!
Tuesday: April 7
Scripture Reading: Lamentations 1:8-9
Prayer Focus: The wages and weight of sin are devastating; destroying lives, families, cities, even entire people groups. Lament the uncleanliness of your own life and the lives of those around you. Acknowledge before God how sin has afflicted you, those you know, and our world. Then read Lamentations 3:19-26 and allow those verses to encourage your soul.
Wednesday: April 8
Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 31:3, Ez. 36:24-27
Prayer Focus: Thank the Father for how He has drawn you to Him with everlasting love and kindness. Reflect on the goodness of His love and the wonderful reality that He has placed His Spirit in you to move you to follow His ways. Ask the Lord to help you obey and to help you cultivate a heart that longs to follow Him and delight in Him.
Thursday: April 9
Scripture Reading: John 17
Prayer Focus: Before Jesus was arrested, put on trial, and executed, He prayed for us. He prayed that we would be united to Him and the Father, as well as to one another. He also prayed that the Father would keep us in the world and protect us, so that the world would believe Jesus was sent by God to reveal His glory and love. Spend time making Jesus’ prayer your own, praying for unity in His body, for the revelation of His glory, for our sanctification, and that the world would come to know Him.
Friday: April 10
Scripture Reading: Psalm 22:14-18
Prayer Focus: As we remember the crucifixion today, think of the price Christ paid to ransom us. Reflect on what He endured and why – it was the joy of making salvation possible for us that compelled Christ to the cross and sustained Him in the agony of torture and death. Ask God to cement that reality in your soul as the ultimate statement of how God feels about you.
Saturday: April 11
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 53
Prayer Focus: Read this passage slowly (and maybe even multiple times) and talk to God about what stands out to You in this Scripture. As you are reminded of who Christ is, how He lived and died, and what He accomplished for us, turn your thoughts and reactions into prayer.
Sunday: April 12
Scripture Reading: Revelation 5
Prayer Focus: First read verses 1-4. Think of how horrible it would be had Christ never come to rescue us. If He had not given His life for us, we would still be God’s enemies, eternally separated from Him and without any way of being reconciled. There would be no names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Now read the rest of the chapter and respond in worship. Thank the Lord for saving us, praise Jesus for His worthiness and victory, sing to God as your heart reacts to the glorious truth of the Gospel. Jesus our sacrificial Lamb is worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and praise – give that to Him today!
